Communication
Messages to School
For urgent messages, absences, pick up arrangements and general enquiries please call the school office on 0208 648 9660 or email the School Office on info@haslemere.merton.sch.uk. The school office is manned from 8am - 12pm and 1pm - 4pm
If you would like to speak to your child's class teacher, please contact them through the School Office. The Office staff will forward emails to class teachers who will respond if appropriate
Almost all our correspondence with class teachers is via email. The newsletter is emailed out every fortnight and is our main way of communicating with parents on school related matters, PTA updates and any community news. Letters to specific year groups will also be emailed out to parents.
We use Parent Pay which is a web based payment centre for trips, visits, school meals and stationary items.
Please ensure we have your up to date contact details so the school can contact you in an emergency.
Parents' / Carers' Evening
We have two set Parent / Carer evenings per year (Autumn and Spring term). These are now held face to face within school, however the booking system is via School Cloud. Parents will get sent an email, and will need to book their own appointment slots with thei child/ren's teachers. Appointments are 10 minutes. There are a set number of appointments so please book as soon as possible to guarantee your preferred choice.
During the meeting, you will recieve informtation on your child's progress and their attitude to learning. The teachers will discuss the next steps for their learning in reading, writing and maths.
If your child has a Special Educational Needs Support Plan, seperate meetings are arranged at the same time each term with the class teacher and SENCO. You therefore do not need to book a parents evening as well.
Complaints
We believe that any problems or complaints are best dealt with through discussion between the parties involved. However, should this fail to bring about a resolution, there is a complaints policy to be followed on our website in the Policies section.
Constructive Communication
We strive to promote positive and constructive communication between home and school. We therefore encourage parents to email us directly, if there are any concerns to report.
Anything published on social media groups, should be carefully considered and thought about.
