Haslemere Values Curriculum
At Haslemere School, we take pride in our wonderfully diverse community, where all major world faiths are represented and every culture is valued. Our commitment to fostering a harmonious environment is exemplified through the adoption of a comprehensive set of 33 moral values. These values, which span a three-year cycle, form a common understanding that underpins our school's ethos and cultivates a cohesive atmosphere conducive to learning.
Each month, we focus on a specific "Value of the Month," which is introduced during a whole-school assembly. This initiative not only highlights the importance of the chosen value but also encourages ongoing reflection throughout the month. At the conclusion of each month, students vote for a classmate who has exemplified the value, and the recipient is honoured with a Values Certificate, fostering a sense of achievement and recognition.
The cyclical nature of our values curriculum allows for repeated engagement throughout the students' educational journey. As children progress through their schooling, they revisit these values, delving more deeply into their meanings. In conjunction with the British Values curriculum, we strive to create an environment where every child can flourish and reach their full potential.
