At Haslemere Primary School, we take great pride in our wonderfully diverse community, where all major world faiths are celebrated and every culture is deeply valued. This ethos was strongly endorsed in our June 2025 Ofsted report, where inspectors awarded us an Outstanding rating for Personal Development. They praised our school for promoting a deep respect for different cultures and beliefs, creating an inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued, safe, and heard.

Our Values-Based Ethos

Our commitment to fostering a harmonious, respectful community is anchored in a comprehensive set of moral values. Delivered across a structured three-year cycle, these values create a shared language that underpins our school culture and supports high standards of behaviour:

• Value of the Month: Each month begins with a dedicated whole-school assembly introducing a specific core value, encouraging pupils to reflect on and apply it in their daily lives.
• Peer Recognition: At the end of each month, pupils nominate and vote for classmates who have truly embodied that value. Awarding the Values Certificate celebrates these role models and inspires a collective pride in doing good.
• Deepening Understanding: Returning to these core principles throughout their primary years allows children to explore moral concepts at greater depth as they grow, building empathy and maturity over time.

Preparing Pupils for Modern Britain

Alongside our focus on personal development, we weave fundamental British Values and rights throughout school life. Inspectors highlighted that our pupils actively exercise leadership from pupil "mental health champions" to early years helpers, learning how to make a genuinely positive impact on their school and the wider community.

By marrying high academic expectations with strong personal values, we equip every child with the confidence, respect, and character they need to flourish and reach their full potential.
